Fourth grade students at Burke Elementary used Gale and Worldbook Online databases for a research project.  They researched the Kemp Ridley Sea Turtles and wrote information on note cards.  Students will use their newly gained knowledge as they create projects about the sea turtles.

Third and fourth grade students at Locke Hill used iBistro, the library online catalog, to complete a library scavenger hunt. The questions required them to utilize many of the library skills taught by Mrs. Tong during the school year.

 



Fifth Grade Civil War Study at Michael ES

Melissa Dockery’s fifth grade class at Michael Elementary discovered that the online encyclopedias World Book and Britannica were great sources of information for their projects about issues, events, and famous people of the Civil War.

Sheryl Stoeck, librarian at O’Connor High School, was teaching a Sophomore English class about the online databases and heard one student say to another, “This is way better than the Internet!”
