Fifth grade students at Blattman Elementary are hard at work discovering information about trees.

Using databases such as United Streaming, World Book Online, and Ebsco Kids Search, students researched dendrochronolgy, then applied what they learned by measuring the height and girth of trees found in the campus courtyard.  They used magnifying glasses to count tree rings.

This lesson was a collaboration between the Librarian, Mrs. Villarreal, the CIT, Ms. Torres and the fifth grade Science teachers, Mrs. Weatherford, and Mrs. Alvarez.
